📘 DCT Apps — Subscription Tracker: User Guide

Everything you need to use, share, and support your app — in one place.

No account • Local only CSV import / export Grid • List • Calendar • Dashboard

🔑 Overview

The DCT Apps Subscription Tracker keeps personal and business subscriptions organized. It runs entirely in your browser: no servers, no login. You can import/export CSV, see renewals in a calendar, track payment plans (e.g., 6 of 6), and filter by tags, status, billing cycle, and payment method.

Privacy-first: Your data stays on your device. Export a CSV before clearing your browser or switching devices.

🚀 Quick Start

Add your first subscription

  • Fill in: Service Name*, Price*, Billing Cycle*, Next Payment Date*
  • Optional: Payment Method, Tag (Business/Personal/Custom), Number of payments (for payment plans)
  • Pick a Subscription Status (Active/Paused/Canceled)
  • Click Add Subscription

*Required fields are marked inside the app with an asterisk.

Import / Export

  • Click Export CSV to save all data (also a great template).
  • Fill the CSV with your subscriptions.
  • Click Import CSV and choose your file (append or replace).

Tip: Export a backup at the end of your session.

📅 Calendar & Payment Plans

Calendar tips

  • Hover an item to see amount, cycle, tag, and progress (e.g., 1/8 for an 8‑month plan).
  • Paused/Canceled items won’t appear here.
  • Use month navigation to move forward/back.

Payment plans

Add a Number of payments (e.g., 6 or 8). The app shows each cycle in the calendar as 1/6, 2/6, 3/6 … and will automatically mark the subscription canceled after the final cycle.

Calendar export (.ics): Generate upcoming events and import into Google/Apple Calendar. If you export again later, your calendar app may create duplicates unless its import tool automatically de‑duplicates events. (This app includes stable UIDs to help calendar apps recognize repeats.)

💾 Saving & Backups

Your data is stored locally in the browser you’re using. You may lose it if you:

  • Clear cookies/site data or reset your browser
  • Use private/incognito mode
  • Switch devices or browsers

Recommendation: Export a CSV backup at the end of each session.

❓ FAQ & Troubleshooting

My calendar is empty or missing items.
Ensure the subscriptions are Active. Paused/Canceled are hidden from the calendar view. Also confirm the dates fall within the current month.
Totals look off.
Check the display currency in the top bar. Also confirm filters aren’t excluding items (status, tag, cycle, payment method).
How do “Money Saved” numbers work?
Money saved is calculated from all Canceled subscriptions — monthly equivalent and annualized.
Can I restore after deleting?
No. Delete is permanent. Use Cancel if you want to keep the record but remove it from totals.
That’s it! You’re ready.
Keep your data safe: export a CSV backup regularly. Enjoy the clarity and control!
